This beautiful park is the result of a community’s tenacity and will to better their surroundings. Some arsony cases in the 70s caused this area to become a filthy vacant lot, basically abandoned by the administration at the time. Citizens thus formed a committee that presented their own development plan, which was accepted after a 3 year-long battle!

I wanted to represent that spirit as a huge figure formed by the community. The giant is holding a walking staff in one hand, and an energy sphere in the other. The figure is made out of the park’s existing shapes and colors.
